Two Teams Could Call Roski's Stadium Home

When Ed Roski in April unveiled his plan for an $800M stadium in City of Industry, California, it seemed like the best shot in recent years for the NFL to return to the L.A. area. But even then, there wasn't expected to be any immediate impact, as the stadium isn't scheduled to be completed until the 2011 season. But now Roski's business partner, John Semcken, says he has "no doubt" an NFL team will play in L.A. by next season, claiming Roski already has a "handshake deal" with Rose Bowl officials to host a team for two seasons until the Industry project is complete. Even more, Semcken believes two teams could ultimately end up playing at the new stadium, and the NFL acknowledges that it has "long identified" L.A. as a two-team market. Semcken indicates seven NFL teams have expressed interest in the new stadium, but the Vikings' Zygi Wilf reportedly has rejected Roski's latest overtures to head west, intending instead to focus on new stadium efforts in the Twin Cities.
