Dolphins add to C-suite in spate of hires

The Dolphins have made three new senior VP hires in the C-suite, adding Pri Shumate as Chief Marketing Officer, Ged Tarpey as Chief Commercial Officer and Jason Green as Chief Ticketing Officer. All three will work across the Dolphins, Hard Rock Stadium and its owned-and-operated Formula One and tennis properties.

Shumate, who previously was CMO at Columbia Sportswear, will oversee brand and performance marketing, communications, community affairs, events, entertainment and fan experience. CMO is a new title for the Dolphins; Shumate’s roles encompass some of the duties held by SVP/Communications & Community Affairs Jason Jenkins before his death in August 2022, and she will oversee current VP/Marketing Michael Shaw. Nolan Partners advised the Dolphins on the Shumate hire.

Tarpey and Green together will fill roles left vacant when former Chief Revenue Officer Jeremy Walls left to become COO of the Arizona Cardinals in 2023.

Tarpey will oversee all aspects of corporate sponsorships and events. He had been Managing Dir/Global Media & Entertainment at Twitter before its name change. TurnkeyZRG assisted the search for Tarpey.

Green, who was hired in November but not announced until this week, will handle all ticket sales, service and operations. He spent 2018-23 with the Clippers, where he finished as Chief Ticketing Officer and handled ticket revenue, fan services and advance sales for the Intuit Dome.

Separately this week, the Dolphins also formally announced five new VPs appointed in recent months:

  • Randy Wills, VP/Dolphins and Miami Open ticket sales
  • Krystle Reid, VP/Luxury & Membership Services
  • Alicia Cuervo, VP/Construction
  • Brian Waterman, VP/Security
  • Kim Miller, VP/Community Affairs

Those hires add to the Dolphins’ percentage of employees who are women or people of color; the team had ranked third out of 32 behind the Rams and 49ers in 2023, according to the NFL.
