Boxers Taylor, Serrano eyeing June rematch at the Sphere

Boxers Katie Taylor "looks set for a Las Vegas showdown" with Amanda Serrano, as the two "are expected to clash at the Sphere in early June," with an announcement from Taylor’s promoters Matchroom expected this week, according to Chris McNulty of the IRISH TIMES. Matchroom Boxing Chief Eddie Hearn has "opened talks with Serrano’s team," and it seems as if the Puerto Rican (46-2-1) is "keen on a rematch" with Taylor (23-1). Serrano lost a controversial split decision against Taylor in April 2022 in front of a sold-out Madison Square Garden, when the world lightweight belts "were on the line." A June bout would be the first sporting event ever held at the Sphere, leapfrogging UFC's planned September pay-per-view event at the venue (IRISH TIMES, 4/7).
