YES Network's Dolgin Calls Ongoing Carriage Dispute With Comcast "Really Frustrating"

YES Network President & CEO Tracy Dolgin yesterday brought the RSN's carriage dispute with Comcast to WFAN-AM, calling the issue "really frustrating" because Comcast is “trying to portray themselves as the savior of the consumer, the person who cares about what the consumer thinks." Appearing on "Boomer & Carton," Dolgin said of Comcast, "Everything they’ve done historically, from their low customer satisfaction ratings to almost everything they put out, has been complete spin. ... I talk facts, I’m not like them.” While YES' negotiations are based on Nielsen data, Dolgin said Comcast's arguments are supported by "data that they have that they claim is private data." Dolgin: "Not only won’t they share the data on the YES Network so we can see what they’re talking about, which makes no sense, but they don’t share the data on their own networks." He added, "What we charge them for YES is less than what they charge for some of their own regional sports networks.” Around 900,000 viewers are effected by the carriage dispute, and Dolgin said YES has “agreed to sit down to the table anytime they’re ready to do it, but they’ve shown no interest in doing that.” Dolgin: “There’s no fact right now that leads me to believe that Comcast is going to, like a leopard, change its spots” (“Boomer & Carton,” WFAN-AM, 3/16).
