Suppliers are "striking back, fighting the beleaguered company over goods they placed with it for sale under consignment arrangements." At stake is $85M worth of "shoes and other gear on the shelves of the insolvent retailing operation." ROBERT KLYMAN, an attorney for Sports Authority, yesterday during a court hearing said that "'dozens' of suppliers have demanded that the beleaguered company stop selling their consigned goods" (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 3/17).
PRISON BREAK: Sentencing for former MLB Cardinals Scouting Dir CHRIS CORREA, who "pleaded guilty in January to gaining unauthorized access into the Astros' player scouting database, is now scheduled for June 6." Correa's attorney, DAVID ADLER, "requested and was granted a delay in the scheduled April 18 sentencing because he is involved in another federal court trial and has been unable to participate in Correa's presentence report interview" (CHRON.com, 3/16).
