Auto Club Speedway Debuting Premium Area Highlighted By Memorabilia, Historical Photos

Auto Club Speedway this weekend "will debut an exclusive, high-end private club" honoring late NASCAR Senior VP/Operations Les Richter, who passed away in '10, and the club will provided the track's limited members the "year-round ultimate business and entertainment environment," according to Louis Brewster of the INLAND VALLEY DAILY BULLETIN. The club will be named Richter's and décor will "feature a collection of racing memorabilia and historical ACS photos." Destined to be the "marquee club on ACS ground, Richter’s will offer a unique dining experience, offering all-inclusive upscale food and beverage overlooking pit road, with an incredible views overlooking the start finish line." The cost for club members is $2,500 per person (INLAND VALLEY DAILY BULLETIN, 3/15). Meanwhile, Brewster also reported the track before Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Auto Club 400 will "more than likely announce a sellout for the third consecutive year and the second" with ACS President Dave Allen in charge. Allen was "promoted to the spot" after Gillian Zucker left for the Clippers in late '14 and since the move "has been a regular on the 'rubber chicken' circuit, speaking to various service clubs in the region to boost interest and sales." He admits his learning curve "was not all that great, more of shifting responsibilities." Allen said, "As the year has gone on, being pulled in so many different ways, you have to rely on the staff. We have such a fantastic team the transition wasn’t difficult because there wasn’t a large learning curve" (INLAND VALLEY DAILY BULLETIN, 3/16).
