Overnight Ratings: Sprint Cup At Vegas Down 13%; Big Ten Tops Conference Tourney Finals

Fox led all weekend sports telecasts with a 4.6 overnight Nielsen rating for yesterday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Kobalt Tools 400 from Las Vegas. That figure is down 13% from the same race last year. The Michigan State-Ohio State Big Ten tournament championship yesterday topped all NCAA men's basketball games over the weekend with a 2.7 overnight on CBS. That figure is flat compared to the Ohio State-Penn State matchup last year. ESPN earned a 1.5 overnight for the Florida State-North Carolina ACC tournament championship yesterday, down slightly from the Duke-UNC final last year. The FSU-UNC game also aired on Raycom networks in ACC markets (number not included in the 1.5 overnight). ABC earned a 2.1 overnight for Vanderbilt's upset of Kentucky in the SEC tournament championship, up from a 1.8 overnight for Kentucky-Florida last year. The Colorado-Arizona Pac-12 tournament championship on Saturday night earned CBS a 1.4 overnight, down 26% from a 1.9 rating for Arizona-Washington last year. ESPN also earned a 1.4 overnight for the premiere of "The Announcement" last night. The documentary focusing on Magic Johnson's HIV revelation was down from a 2.0 overnight for the premiere of "The Fab Five" in the same window last year.
